In this engaging year-long Zoology class, students will dive into the fascinating world of animals—from insects and amphibians to mammals, birds, reptiles, and more! We’ll study animal classification, habitats, adaptations, diets, life cycles, and conservation efforts. Throughout the year, students will work on building their own creative “zoo,” adding new animals as we go. Each student will research real animals and also have opportunities to invent their own imaginative creatures, complete with written reports, drawings, and habitat designs.
Weekly homework will be assigned and may include:
- Researching a specific animal
- Writing short reports
- Drawing or designing habitats
Prerequisites: Ability to take notes, complete homework, and complete some multiple choice tests. Plenty of time will be given for the tests (entire class period), with options for test corrections as needed.
