Explore Your World in Spanish: Social Studies
In this class, students will be exposed to simple vocabulary and grammar in Spanish through the exploration of Social Studies themes. Each month we will focus on timely holidays, cultural traditions, and notable people (from "Dia de Juan Baustista" to "Las posadas" and "Dia de los reyes magos" to "Dia del nino" and "Cinco de mayo"). Students will use the Spanish language to create art projects, conduct science experiments, play games, and prepare recipes.
Each student will be provided with copies of weekly take home activities. These do not
need to be turned in but it is highly recommended that students keep these pages in a
folder or 3 ring binder so they can refer back to review previously studied vocabulary and concepts.
