Cooking & Crafts in Spanish

We will “travel” to a different Spanish-speaking region each month and explore the language and culture through foods and crafts. For the first 3 weeks, I will teach a recipe or lead a project and introduce the month’s vocabulary words and cultural information. On the last class of each month, the students will have the opportunity to 

(a.) share a recipe or craft from the region 

(b.) play a trivia game about the culinary or artistic techniques, culture of the region, or Spanish vocabulary we have learned and/or 

(c.) complete a language challenge such as following Spanish directions for setting the table or ordering off of a menu. In addition to learning the names of the ingredients/materials for our projects, we will focus on a set of around 10 vocabulary words each month.
