Story Worlds: Fairy Tales & Tall Tales
Story Worlds is a creative storytelling class where students explore fairy tales, tall tales, and original story ideas through imagination and play.
Some weeks, students will start with familiar stories and experiment with changing parts of them — the beginning, ending, characters, or setting — to see how the story might unfold differently. Other weeks, students will create entirely new stories and worlds from scratch using guided prompts, story cubes, and collaborative play.
The class emphasizes creativity, listening, turn-taking, and confidence in sharing ideas. There is no required reading or writing, and no pressure to perform. Participation is flexible and designed to meet students where they are.
