Musical Theatre
Step into the exciting world of musical theatre during the 2026–2027 school year! In this class, students will explore the fundamentals of acting, singing, and dancing while learning how these elements come together to create a performance. Through fun activities, games, rehearsals, and performances, students will build confidence, creativity, teamwork, and stage presence. Students will learn basic vocal techniques, character development, choreography, and performance skills. They will learn that costumes and props are essential visual storytelling tools that define a play's world and enhance the overall mood. In the spring, students will showcase their talents in a musical theatre performance. We will be learning and performing the musical “What Goes Around, Comes Around” written by Deborah Solberg and Yurgen Ilander. This classic tale celebrates the triumph of good over evil as magical fairies, a wise wizard, and mischievous goblins join forces to take on the troublesome Queenie Meanies and the powerful Sorceress. Filled with adventure, humor, and heart, the story teaches valuable lessons about kindness, courage, responsibility, and the importance of making positive choices.
