Advanced Pre-k / Kindergarten

In this advanced preschool/kindergarten class students will continue to learn the concepts of math, literacy, following instructions, problem solving, writing skills, beginning reading, listening skills and more through a themed curriculum. I have found over the past 17 years of teaching that themed curriculums help children to engage in more meaningful learning through integrating different subjects like art, music, math, reading, language, writing, etc. around a common concept. We'll also start introducing new skills like telling time, counting money, reading, putting words together to form sentences, discovering science, math and more!

Homework packets will be sent home for practicing what was learned in class. Students can return completed packets for credit. Once 3 completed homework packets are returned, students can earn a treasure box reward.

Prerequisites: Students should be 5 years old, potty trained and have basic scissor skills, name recognition, know all capital & lower case letters, numbers 1-20, days of the week, months of the year, basic phonics/letter sounds, early math readiness, and ready to start reading.

Homework: Optional 1 hour

Google Classroom: Yes for parent communication only

Student provided supplies: Supply fee covers most items.

Monthly Class Fee: $60

Supply Fee: $45 per semester

Supply Fee Includes: Class fees cover most materials your child/children will need for this class.
